Philippine Airlines was founded in 1941 and is the flag carrier of the Philippines. It is the oldest operating airline in Asia. Its first flight was from Makati to Baguio. In 1947, it became the first Southeast Asian airline to reach Europe.

The Boeing 777-300ER is the world’s longest-range twin-engine jetliner and provides fuel efficiency and unmatched payload levels. 

The Airbus A350-900 offers more fuel efficiency, less CO2 emission and less noise. The Airbus A330-300 and Airbus A321ceo are used for domestic and international flights. The Airbus A321neo is more fuel-efficient and generates less CO2 emission and noise. 

The Airbus A321ceo is the most efficient single-aisle jetliner and because of its stretched fuselage, it can accommodate more seats and cargo. The Airbus A320-200 is the founding member of the A320 family.

The airline offers different classes of travel on its flights. The services offered vary depending on the type of travel class. The different travel classes are as follows:

Economy Class

This class offers comfortable seats which can be reclined and enough legroom.

Philippine Airlines Baggage Allowance

Domestic flights Economy Class passengers can carry checked-in baggage as per the fare type. 

Supersaver fare type allows 0 kg, Saver fare type allows 10 kg, Value fare type allows 20 kg and Flex allows 20 kg. The Premium Economy Class can carry 25 kg and Business Class can carry 30 kg for Value fare type and 35 kg for Flex fare type. 

For international flights, the baggage allowance depends on the destination. Passengers of all classes can carry a handbag weighing 7 kg. Passengers can also carry one personal item like a purse, a small handbag, a laptop bag, a duty-free bag and more.

Philippine Airlines Web Check-in and Boarding Pass

Passengers can check-in online through the airline’s website. Online check-in helps to avoid queues at the airport and saves time. For online check-in, passengers can go to the ‘Check-in Online’ tab and enter the required details like booking reference, e-ticket number, last name and frequent flyer number. 

On successful check-in, the boarding pass will be sent via email. During online check-in, passengers can select preferred seats.  The boarding passes can be saved and printed. At the airport, passengers without any checked-in baggage can proceed to the gate. Passengers can drop the checked-in bags at the airline’s Online Check-in Bag Drop Counter at the airport.

Check-in Domestic Flights

Passengers can check in 24 hours to 1 hour before the scheduled flight departure. Passengers with confirmed Philippine Airlines tickets can go to the airline’s website and check-in online. Passengers can print the boarding passes. At the airport, passengers can proceed to the Online Check-in Bag Drop Counter to drop off the checked-in baggage.

Check-in International Flights

Passengers can check in 24 hours to 1 hour and 15 minutes before the scheduled flight departure. Passengers can check in online and select preferred seats before arriving at the airport. Boarding passes are sent via email and can be printed. Checked-in baggage can be dropped off at the Online Check-in Bag Drop Counter. 

Philippine Airlines In-flight Services

The cabin interiors offer a relaxed tropical feel. The in-flight entertainment system is available on in-seat screens and offers popular movies, TV shows, music, games and more. The entertainment content can also be streamed on personal devices using WiFi. The in-flight entertainment system uses the AVOD feature which allows passengers to start, pause, rewind and fast-forward the video programs by using touch-screen controls.

The in-flight entertainment system offers 300 hours of entertaining content. Passengers can enjoy the latest movies, popular TV shows, music, games and more. Personal screens are fitted on the seat backs which can be operated using personal control units or touch-screen controls. A wide range of entertainment options are available to the passengers.

Passengers in Economy Class are offered complimentary snacks and meals depending on the duration of the flight and Business Class passengers can enjoy a choice of meals. The airline offers a Frequent Flyer program - Mabuhay Miles. Passengers can earn miles by flying with the airline and codeshare partners.
